How I work.

My training is in integrative counselling, meaning my approach is tailored to your needs. I practice holistically taking into account the mind and body in a way that suits you.

IFS

Internal family systems therapy works by seeing ourselves as many different parts. We have a 'family' within us. Through therapy we can get to know these parts within us such as the perfectionist, the OCD, the inner critic. All these parts have a role to play.

Psychodynamic Therapy

I believe a lot of our views about ourselves and how we view self-compassion come from our earlier years and the unconscious messages that we were given. Together we can uncover some of these messages and beliefs.

My Therapy practice is a place where person centred therapy is at the heart of what I do. Through empathy and being non-judgmental this is a space where you as the client can grow and discover your own possibilities.

Compassion Focused Therapy

Something that I believe is extremely important, is for my clients to recognise how amazing they are. In our current world it is sometimes made hard to be compassionate towards yourself. Through Compassion Focused Therapy we will work on you being able to find the compassionate part of yourself in order for you to improve your mental wellbeing, help regulate your emotions and be able to give yourself some self-love.

Creativity

Words sometimes are not enough to process what you have been through. Drawing, storytelling, exploring metaphors or song lyrics can help give voice to unconscious thoughts and feelings that you may not have explored or recognised.

Existential

I am sure at some point you may have questioned why you're here, what's the point or who am I bringing in Existential philosophy might help us to unravel some of the unanswerable questions we have about our existence.

Transactional Analysis

Throughout or lives we may be told that we need to 'do better' or that 'you're not good enough'. Over time these messages form our scripts, and we start to form patterns and behaviours that fulfil our scripts. Through therapy we can work on understanding what we have started to believe about ourselves and start growing our self-worth.
